As some of you will know it was LKA this weekend. My absolute favourite show of the year :D Lovely venue, nice big rings, tonnes of shopping (most of my xmas shopping is done now lol) and a happy festive atmosphere! And to top it all off its local for me too :D lol

Anyway, I didnt go on saturday with the chihuahua cos i've been feeling really rough the last week or so and was feeling like death warmed up that morning. So my mum took him along and braved her first proper (non club show) champ show!! Anyway, the little man won the Dog CC! His second in only 2 months in the country :D He didnt get BOB, that went to the bitch who won BOB at Crufts this year..! Lovely dog.

Anyway, fab result, thoroughly chuffed with that!! I wasnt planning to go with Maya yesterday if i felt as bad as I had sunday, but my mum cant take her because Maya hates her and refuses to show for her :D lol So, woke up yesterday morning feeling a bit better. Had a yummy breakfast of ibuprofen and pro plus washed down with some red bull, and off we tootled up to the NEC. Anyway, with a none too efficient handler, Maya managed to win the Limit bitch class. Was very pleased with that!! Then, after two LONG years of waiting and everyone telling me that she deserved to be a champion long ago, she only went and won her first CC! :D Apparently I squealed when the judge came over to me - I dont remember...lol!!

The Dog CC winner was Mayas brother who has swept the board this year, won about 15 CCs, many BOBs and was Top Dog this year. So you can imagine my surprise when the judge went and gave Maya BOB!! lol!! More squealing im sure!

We didnt get anything in the Group unfortunately, despite Maya absolutely showing her little socks off. We had plenty of strangers come up to us outside the ring to say they had her pegged for a placing but hey-ho, that was only her second time in a group, and last time she was placed, we cant expect every judge to like her :D

But anyway, didnt get home til 8pm last night so we had a LONG lie in this morning, im still knackered. But very proud of my two dogs, wont be expecting a weekend like that again but its always best when it comes as a suprise. People in each breed told us that the judges wouldnt like our dogs, so its definately a good idea not to listen to other people...lol!

Congratulations, what a fab weekend. I have happy memories of the LKA, there was always a party atmosphere with Christmas cards being exchanged etc. The last time I went, or attempted to go was the infamous show about 20 years ago when there was really bad snow and a lot of people ended up sleeping at the show. We started out but turned off the M6 and headed back home, turns out it was a very wise decision.;)

well done! I missed entries for LKA this year, mostly due to having my head up my bum! :p :D Sad to have missed it though, I love the xmassy atmosphere and the doggy present shopping. What a fantastic weekend for you, the sort of weekend most of us dream of!
