I'm on the hunt for a new saddlepad for summer. Full size, GP cut. I want a fairly thin one that has 'wicking' properties for sweaty horses or helps to keep them cool, such as a waffle layer. No sheepskin!

Would love to hear your suggestions or if you have a great one that you could recommend!
Thanks :)

I have the HKM thin cotton high withered ones, even the waffle ones mean an extra layer so more heat for the horse! The cotton ones also wash and dry superbly :)

I've got the ecogold xc for my hot one, there has been quite a noticeable difference in sweat marks since we have been using it and she seems very happy in it. Very expensive but it does appear to do what it claims and I'm considering getting another one (once I've had a major payrise!)

Le Mieux do lovely saddlecloths that wick away sweat. They're around the £35 mark so not extortionate and Horse Health do £5 off if you buy two. I've just ordered another three to replace some old numnahs.

Thermatex.....all of the colours in all of the sizes and you can have made to measure too.....love them.

Bryndu:)

Have just googled these and they look brilliant. Is there somewhere in the UK you can get them? :)

Try the Premier Equine Anti Slip Airflow Pads - I find they're very good at keeping the area under the saddle pad cool. I believe they're very similar to the Egogold saddle pads.

I have Rambo handy pads. Supposed to be ultra wicking and seem to be really good. Also padded in front so guaranteed not to slip back. Except they did a bit so new ones have a girth strap. Original ones at bargain prices on ebay shops.
