Have to admit that it brought a lump to my throat because it reminds me of a gentle, kind, wise old horse that has been left in dire circumstances. Fortunately her old owner recieved a whisper of its plight and now is going home for Christmas.

Thats a lovely story ABM., The corny ones are often the best.

Horserider, it breaks my heart also, when a dear, loving old one, finds itself in a bad situation. They deserve to be treated to a life of love and comfort, once they have given their all and are no longer of 'use'.

Idealistic? yep, but I am fortunate enough to have my home on 40 acres for my oldies to live out their latter years. If we all had that luxury, things would be so easy.

I am so pleased your Oldie is giong home. Though, sorry that she needs to, I hope she and her owner have lots of time to enjoy each other again.
