Was wondering if people could share their advice on building confidence.

Doesnt matter what sort of situation, be it ridden out hacking, schooling, ground work, etc.

I have seem a few threads/comments lately, and i have also suffered a minor confidence crisis of late....so thought it'd be nice!
 
Not sure what your situation is but I helped myself by getting a decent instructor who believes in hacking to get you started off again (obviously on good horses who will not spook and shy at everything) she hacked out with me and tbh the horses I rode were probably listening to her as well as me. Slowly she eeked me forward and out of my comfort zone but never enough to scare me and then she started with me in the school. She's not a confrontational person and I am so I think she taught me not to bully myself into doing things I was not ready for but equally she was encouraging when she knew I'd succeed. I've moved on and have my own loan horse now and we have great fun, even did a wee show today, but every now and again I will touch base with my instructor who gave me back my confiodence in the first place.

Another tool I discovered in the process of getting my mo jo back was NLP (nuero linguistic programming) as I understand it you visualise a situation and how it will play out in advance and how you will tackle situations as they occur.
