Gamebird's Good Service award for April goes to Dressage Deluxe who, despite being in the middle of setting up their tradestand at Hartpury, managed to source an item for me, put it straight in the post special delivery and have it with me for 10.30am the following day :)

A thumbs down for the Suffolk-based saddlery who had the same item in stock £20 cheaper but spectaularly failed to help me on the telephone and seemed thoroughly disinterested in securing the sale .

And the Bleurgh? This:

£100 for something that looks like it cost £20 and should be worn by someone in a Scouse wig. Eh! Eh! Alright! Alright! Calm down! :p:eek:

*Gamebird prepares to lambasted by Anky-afficionados*

GameBird can I be a pest and ask you were you got your brown riding boots from?? :)

p.s You could get a jacket like for a fiver a preston market, sorry! Though i do like a lot of dressage deluxe stuff

I doubt Gamebird needs me to defend her, but I'd stake quite a lot that she hasn't bought the pictured monstrosity (nice ruching down the arms, amazing how something can be 'bling' with no diamante, wouldn't have thought it possible!) but was actually trying to buy something tasteful...
shell-suits for dressage princesses, just what we need.

Oh Dear Lord!

I don't think I made myself clear enough. I DID NOT BUY THE SHELLSUIT. I can't believe that you thought I had! I bought a nice plain brown leather breastplate. No fluff, not even green and yellow striped elastic! I hope that misunderstanding hasn't diminished my standings in the Impeccable Taste Stakes .

I honestly just happened across the shellsuit whilst browsing ;)

DB - my boots are De Niro and I bought them from Dogwood (whose service was also good, if slower as they had to be specially made to fit my bizarre legs).

Kerilli and S_C. Thank you so much for leaping to my defence so promptly and retaining faith in me where others had wavered :p :)

That jacket is vomit inducing in a skinny minny size 6 - no offence to anyone but imagine it in a voluminous 'larger' size. Would make anyone look like a hot air balloon and it would be very tempting not to hold them down and force them to inhale several canisters of helium and then attach some rope to their shoes......

and as GB said, what she is now lacking, is suitable headgear...

or would be, if I had read your latest post.

Maybe you should buy it for the comedy value...?

My eyes! MY EYES!!! Just when I thought they couldn't bring out anything worse than the KP range....

Although I have to say, I'd love to see someone in a warm up ring with the scouse wig under a hat, just to get the truly full effect. :D

See - I am an eventer at heart but with a bad habit for bling and "matchy-matchy" (I hide it from my eventing friends :o ) but that jacket is hideous even by my poor taste standards.

I am neither huge nor a skinny minnie, but i'm pretty sure I would look "oven-ready" in that.... :p

Noooo you're supposed to wear your point two under it then when it goes off you can look just like michelin man :p

Dressage Deluxe do have fab service - truly great company.

That jacket = LOL. You need to see and feel one in real life.....I got a static shock off it it's made of THAT much plastic!! Truly rank...

Gamebird, out of interest, who was the Suffolk saddler? (PM me if you prefer)

A thumbs up from me for Dressage Deluxe too, my mum ordered me a stockpin for xmas which they replied they didn't have in stock, mum agreed to keep the order on and for them to forward said pin when it was back in stock even though DD didn't know when this would be. The stock pin turned up out of the blue a few weeks ago. I'm sure some companies would have just forgotten about it, so I now have two lovely otto schumacher stock pins for this season and beyond!!

Nah sorry GB I see no mention of breastplate in your original post so go on just admit it you had one vino too many and thought it was a good idea at the time :D:D:D

I think you overestimate her to be honest...

Have you noticed loads of the jackets have 'a fashionable metallic sheen'? Are we missing out on something?

Yes - I have noticed this trend. I am not impressed. I would not only look 3 stone heavier, but I will repeat my original comment.... I would look "oven-ready"

Do you think that Anky may be personally responsible for the North Sea oil shortage? :p

I'll admit to the 'one vino too many' most nights of the week :o but you couldn't get one of those jackets on me if I were unconscious! I'd even struggle with a tin-foil blanket if they found me hypothermic on a mountain somewhere. Hang on though, maybe that's where they got the inspiration for the jacket from?
