A year ago, our cat went missing. We never found him and assumed him dead from a car accident or similar.

Then Friday we had a call from a vet 10 miles away. They had our cat! My hopes were lifted that we would have him back again. Until I saw him.

He needed to be PTS straight away. After having a few moments joy that we would have him back, we lost him all over again.

But now at least I have closure, some of his fur and we will have his ashes.

What can I do with a patch of shaved fur and his ashes as a keepsake? He was the absolute best 💔

That is so, so sad and I’m sorry it wasn’t a happy outcome. I have a glass locket that currently has coloured glass beads in it that I hang by a window. You could open something like that and replace the beads with the fur. It’s a good time of the year to plant trees and shrubs, you could plant the ashes under the tree/shrub or scatter them around the base.

I'm so sorry 💔

You can have ashes incorporated into jewellery (and fur too I think) or paperweights. I used Ashes Into Glass years ago ❤️

I’m so so sorry. I can’t imagine how hard that must have been.
We lost our little cat for a few months and the eventual phone call was unreal, I can’t comprehend how I’d have felt if when we went to the vets to collect him it had still been a bad outcome.
I can see it’s better knowing but so sad.
I had a glass oil candle made with one of my dogs ashes in.
It’s lovely because I knew I’d loose jewellery but this sits safely in the house and it really pretty when lit.
It was about £170 I think but I’ll have it forever. I’d recommend something like that.
