So vet student daughter spent night throwing up with a bug, big reproduction exam on Monday AND hunt ball tonight Oh No!!!!!!!!!
Hay delivered (round bales) now blocking gate to turnout
Chestnut 2yo a very good boy to have his foot dressing changed (punctured sole)
In middle of dressing the hoof, hear groaning and moaning that is not daughter with sore stomach. 3yo (him in my profile pic) has got himself cast on one of the new delivered hay bales as he was chewing the netting off, pawed it all down to roll on and then got stuck mid roll - pillock!!!! So moaning daughter and this mother manfully remove heavy hay bale so said 3yo can get up (aided by a whack on the backside).
Go off to muck out the bottom stables walk up to get wheelbarrow and moaning daughter sore stomach is sitting on rescued thoroughbred mare in a headcollar and a saddle and says "she obviously DID race cos she has let me up on her" Rescued TB mare looks quite perky and next thing trotting out of the yard with sick daughter looking quite smug grinning. They survive (so much for sore stomach but there is the hunt ball to get too so has to pretend she is well).
Next, phone call fom pro show jumper. My good broodmare who we lightly broke at four was sent away to complete her training although now 8 years old. Always quirky, I had hoped to give her a year off from babies and do some ridden hunter classes with her. Quirky broodmare decides she doesn't really want to be ridden at this time of life and refuses to do anything but walk!!!!! LOL so looks like its back to foal making instead.........
So no riding done except for impromtu rrescued TB jaunt by daughter so just another typical day but would not have it any other way
