:)Well, Hippo is doing well health wise and my instructor has set out to cure my badly shredded nerves! So I am riding a lovely quiet pony until I am no longer a human shaped bag of jelly and internalised screaming. The plan is that I will also be able to improve my seat and practice cantering.

Meanwhile, my instructor has also put us in contact with a brilliant girl (lets call her H)who is riding Hippo over the summer and schooling her. She rides for about an hour each day, lots of basic schooling, hacking etc - just to get Hippo settled under saddle. I pop on for short hacks with someone walking next to us, and will work up from there.

Big bit of news: Hippo was in her first ever group lesson on Thursday evening and she was perfect! No spooking, did everything that was asked of her - and jumped 60cm! I was there watching to see how she went, and I was so proud!

Nearly hugged both my instructor and H for all their hard work! Hippo is really thriving at this yard. The yard is also planning a small show for the start of July and we have decided to put Hippo in for fun. H will be riding her in a sort of friendly contest against my instructor and one of her horses. I may enter too on one of the yard ponies. The end goal of course is for me to be confident enough to ride Hippo myself but that is going to take time.

So happy! Jaffa cakes if you read it all!:D

The lump is still present, but a lot smaller and firmer - no more oozing, etc. Vet prescribed ointment which has really done an amazing job. Ended up using an extra thick saddle cloth so apparently I was panicking over nothing on that front!:o

I have pictures of her clean! Must upload them at some point...
