Having cancelled last weeks training session due to his limp we have just been today. It was his last session of a puppy foundation course.
We went into the indoor area as the normal fields were under water. This was more distracting than ever as it bordered the day care kennels and other people were in and out a lot.
He was as usual super good. His heel work is getting really nice and his recall was so good they went to borrow another puppy to try and distract him. Still he was really good.
Ended by the trainer telling us that he was about the best puppy by the end that she’s ever done the class with 😇
This is without me doing anywhere near as much as advised due to his leg.
I have done heel practise as I figured walking on a lead for 5 minutes here and there complied with the vets controlled movement instruction.
Aside from this we have done away with trying to crate him. I trust all the dogs together enough now and since chucking that he’s slept all night, been sound, dry and clean and just generally seemed happier! He’s put in weight and looks great.
So so proud of the little chap. He has without a doubt been the hardest most stressful puppy I’ve ever had but I really do think now with some more Input from me he’s going to be the best ever- *trained/behaviour I mean. Obviously Cece is always number 1 😉BC6815C8-9125-4648-B54A-73C3E817CA00.jpeg

He really is gorgeous. Our young brown bitch likes to lie in a crate in the evening but hates being shut in, unless the others are in their crate next to her.
Thank you! It’s understandable I think, Cecil was often asleep in the crate when I had it set up but I don’t think he’d have liked the door shut.
I wouldn’t have tried it at all really but they didn’t get on well enough to leave alone together over night. I was also worried about him chewing but so far so good.
We have a camera in the room where they sleep and he literally doesn’t leave his bed Until I go downstairs

It sounds as if you've cracked it now!
Let’s hope so! 🤞
We are going to do the next course of lessons, the trainer said he’s actually a lot more advanced than the other dogs in it currently but that it would be good for him to be worked in a controlled area with other dogs as he is a bit worried by dogs he doesn’t know.

My worst pup ever was my Ruby. Hardest to train just a lovely lovely personality but either very clever or very thick - I can never decide. She is 4 now and pretty good 90% of the time. However I would am shocked at how she has become my best ever dog. I adore her. I had forgotten what hard work pups could be but she has been so worth it. Oddly I spoke to her breeder and she kept 2 of the females and said she also found them very hard work. She will breed again from the mum but will use a different dog as she thinks their genetics have just produced very full on pups. I always say that if she had been my first puppy she would have ended up back with her breeder. The breeder only phoned to ask as she wondered if we had the same problems as her!

There's something about a hard work pup that seems to catch your heart.....eventually Lol. x Bertie looks wonderful and so handsome.

He has a nice bed on order!
Half nice anyway, Mr P has evidently forgotten the trauma of coming home to find the house trashed! 😂
I’m not ready to spend £100 on a dog bed for a puppy just yet!
If he doesn’t break it he can have a nice one for his first birthday 🥳
The good bit was buying a bit cheaper and I had a voucher 20% off so I got two! One for old Spud as well, snuggly for winter!
*nothing to to do with the fact I thought matching beds would look good 🤦‍♀️😂
