Anyone else have a horse that has very loud gut sounds?! I will freely admit that I am an anxious person, and maybe I'm overthinking, but I've never had a horse with such a loud belly before. He's fine in himself (TPR all normal), bright, cheeky etc, happy grazing, bloating gone down since being on shorter grass rather than foggage. Not coliky, no other signs of discomfort. Poops all fine and normal. Tapewormed and fluked a few weeks ago. You can hear it rumbling from a few paces away, it's like incoming thunder! The mare has audible gut sounds if you are very close, which is more what I'd consider normal. It's been going on for a while now, I don't know if I'd really noticed it before, or if for some reason I've fixated on it now, I'm doubting my memory to be honest.

This has been going on for a couple of months, but nothing else has happened alongside it

I did wonder if there was something that might be worth adding, a bit like an equine settle-eze or something?! Not that he's showing he's uncomfortable or anything though
 
Mine sometimes has really loud gut sounds but hasn't so much recently. His stomach is fairly sensitive so it could be linked with that but I've never linked louder gut sounds with any flare up of issues or anything. He's also a horse who eats ALOT so I've always thought there's a possibility it could just be that his gut is busy.

If there's no other symptoms apart from loud gut sounds I don't think I'd worry.

Yes Arabi has always had a noisy belly compared to Louis and the others I have had, his had impaction colic twice both quite close together we think related to a virus so didn't drink enough water.

Apart from that he doesn’t have any problems is happy in himself, if his stressed though it will affect his droppings but I think that's the case with most.
