She really was an absolute star compared to what she was like at the last sponsored ride! She only jogged for the first 3/4 hr, and soon learnt that she got her head when she walked. By the end of it we had some good trots (No, we didn't canter - Sister's OH's hunter was not fit enough!) It was so good for both of us - gave me great confidence in Chloe, and I felt so safe on her. And she was a lot calmer than last time, barely sweated at all and felt very relaxed when we really got going. And we did it all in a loose ring snaffle!!
For those who don't know, our last outing ended with me falling off and having to walk back and Chloe was still hunting for a couple of days afterwards
So we were going to make this one really nice and calm, sort of start from scratch! chuffed to bits with her. the very hectic journey was worth it! The ride was 12 miles but we didn't finish, as Benj lost a shoe, but just as well, as it was too long for him.
She travelled well too, and liked listening to the radio.
My sister and I - the one she was riding is a 17hh grade B SJer....jeez you wouldn't believe it with the size of his belly! He is a very good hunter though.
Then we drove all the way down to epsom to her new yard. Tucked up by the end of it, but not surprising at all. She is also sharing her stable with a nest of swallows, which keep flitting through the stable and giving me a shock!
Here she is having a look around. She is already making eyes at the stallion opposite her
A very long day for her, but she took everything in her stride.
I keep forgetting she is only 6, too!
Thanks for looking.
