Today, rather later than in normal years due to the weird weather knocking the grass growth back, we finally set up the equicentral summer grazing track. As anyone who has ever shifted electric fencing around will know, it can be a tangled and tedious job.

OH kindly set up two new curving runs of temporary fencing, each with three strands of wire/tape.

This is the ViewRanger record of the ground he covered :D.

This is his speed recording.

The flat lines on the speed graph are when he was untangling knots! 2.7 miles covered in just over 3 hours. The app does not record any bad language that *may* have been uttered during the setting up process!

This pic is from previous years, but the fence has been put up in the same place.

That fence should now stay in place until the late autumn, or when the standing grass has changed into foggage, and I'll start strip grazing again then.

I think OH has earned a cold beer ?

I bet he's earned his beer!
I've just been shutting gates on my two.
3 weeks ago we had next to no grass, now mine are on small paddocks overnight and one is muzzled in day when they go together through the 2 small paddocks and 1 other..... bloaters in the making!

That is the most thankless job known to man! Well done your OH

This 100 x.

I set mine up a few weeks ago but decided tonight looking at the grass coming through I need to make some alterations, don't suppose he'd fancy doing it ?

That also explains why I'm shattered after doing it!

As well as a beer I think he has earnt a fence spooler .........
Fence reels? We've got them - 6 in total, three on each side. But they are a bit knackered, and there are a few knots in the tape and the string which kept getting caught up.

All strands now running at 5000 volts. So while it's a pain to set up, once it's done, it does work.

Lol those graphs truly show how tedious it is! Back and forth...stomp stomp....untangle...back and forth...rinse, repeat x200!

I hate re-organising electric fencing...ive got more to do and putting it off! ?
