It's been a long day so I'll keep it brief.
I got to the yard at 7am (an hour later than planned) to feed, groom and plait before I had to head off for work.
The lorry picked up Jerry, Troy, Louie and Theo at 9.30 and they were settled into their stables for 1030.
By 1200 no-one had jumped. Anyways, to get to the point, Jerry finally got into the warmup ring around 1930
Our lift had been hanging around for about 40 minutes by this point so we pulled out of the 95cms (90cms and 1m combined as they were running ridiculously late by this point) and just decided to do the 80cms and go home.
Phase one was nice and flowing - a dog-leg from 1 to 2, across the diagonal, a related triple across the other one then a nice curve from 7 to 8.
The second phase had a really nasty turn
9 was along the short side to ten on the long one. Then you had to go back on yourself to 11. 12 to 13 was another dog leg inside one of the fences then to 14 which was on a nice curved line.
Anyways, the muppet got a bit long and flat and knocked 3 down so he ended on 4 faults, which I was quite pleased with considering his history. He also seems to have forgotten that he has to stop afterwards so I think I may pop the pelham in next time and see if it makes any difference.
a video (turn off the sound if you don't want to hear me yabbing away)
