I have always been on a livery yard and the worming is part of this.

I am now on a semi private yard, but the YO isnt a horse professional so to speak. She spoke to a company who gave her a yearly worming plan. I was looking in the diary last night and noticed on the 3rd December that it said worming due in big letters, but no wormers have been provided yet.

I have asked her today and she said she'd sort them in the new year.

I know nothing about worming, so is this OK to wait until January when they were due a month ago?

Thanks x

My two are on a 4 x a year programme as recommended by the Rescue Organization who owns them. I have two types of wormer that are alternated each time. You also need to know weight of horse/pony to get the right amount selected to give.

However we have always followed this routine with our ponies. It is important that you know what type of wormer is given and when, I would take advice from your vet. I would also want to be involved and informed what was happening, not just leave to the YO.

Hope you can get it sorted.
