..but not the 'normal' worms!!
For one of our horses we fill her water up from a bath, and recently we've noticed that as we're filling her bucket up, there is small, red worms in the water - they seem segmented and have almost like a 'bunch' at one end. Looked in the bath today and its crawling in them!!
They remind me of the bloodworm we used to feed our tropical fish.
I don't *think* they are Cyathastomes (although they seem the closest in looks) - and most of the worms I've looked at, tend to be on pasture anyway rather than in water.
We haven't seen them before this year, and have always used the same bath. We've been scooping them out and making sure the water is free of them before giving the water to the horse, but can they cause any problems? Any ideas on what they can be?
