A WWYD - Offered a pony as a gift

I wouldn't either I'm afraid. If you weren't already considering having a section A I wouldn't suddenly start considering it just because it's been offered to you free. It will still need worming, vaccinations, insurance etc etc and even if you can afford it now, what happens if your current riding horse can't do its job anymore and you then want another full size riding horse? Sorry to be pessimistic but if you wanted and needed this pony then fair enough but just because it's a gift isn't a good enough reason in my opinion.

So the YO gets rid of her useless pony, and gets paid for the pleasure.
You are now stuck with a pony you cannot ride, paying twice the cost for most things, under the gaze of the former (probably very opinionated) owner.
No thanks!
