Dexter had a n op on Friday to remove the plates put in in November for his cruciate ligament problem. Yesterday there was a small amount of discharge. Rang vet who said it was normal but keep an eye on him. Today wound looked much better and he was fine until around 10 am. Then became very restless, up and down, in and out. Wound looked red and sore and he is quite distressed about it. Vet says pick up antibiotics and keep on pain relief.
Why does nothing go straight forward for my boy. There is always something going on with him. Both he and I had seriously HAD ENOUGH!!

Thankyou MM. He's on 3 legs at the moment and it is obviously very painful as he is panting and just cannot settle. I can't believe how quickly it deteriorated. He was OK first thing, came on the yard with me and was tucking into his brekky. Then, wallop, hobbling and then on 3 legs and really upset.
Have given him another Rimadyl and he's had his first abs. He's finally settled at the side of me so hopefully they are starting to work. My poor little man, it's always him.

Thanks guys. I hate to see any of them in pain. Just want to kiss and make it better!! Although not sure I want to kiss his wound, it really doesn't look very nice!! Think I'll pass on all your hugs instead!!

Just caught up with this...I have one of those dogs too!
Just checked his stitches from last Thurs and he has obviously been 'at' them (my Mum doesn't put the buster collar high up enough on his neck sometimes) so hoping and praying we don't have to go back to the vets before next week....
