..and her husband, and their numpty son, are all driving me mad!!!
Sorry, just need a teeny weeny rantlet...I'll try and keep it simple.
I moved to a tiny little yard last year, not even a yard, more like a few acres behind said YO's house.
YO previously owned an ancient dependable horse, long gone, gets all inspired and decides to buy another horse.
Comes home with a just backed 4 yr old TB mare with crooked legs and a funny look in her eye (horse, not YO. although..).
YO, btw, in her 60's, tiny, frail, nervous, neurotic, inexperienced.
Spend all this year helping her with new horse. New horse comes in at night all summer, over rugged, box walks, naps, rears, kept seperate from my horses and goes nuts, scares YO, YO's husband hates horse, YO's son rides horse sometimes, loses temper with her, can't ride, makes situation 100 times worse.
New sharer comes to yard with another mare. Hooray, the cavalry has arrived...
YO's horse now point blank refuses to be caught, does great big stunt horse vertical rears when approached. YO in tears, leaves new horse out, thin rug, freezing cold, wet, no shelter. Vet advises YO to have 'dangerous useless' horse PTS. More tears.
Sharer is leaving, offers to take YO's horse with her, on loan, as companion to her own, proposes turn her away for the winter, give YO a break, rethink situation in spring.
YO's husband tells YO if new horse goes he won't allow her to get a more suitable horse, and she must just keep trying with new horse. YO's son believes new horse is just trying it on and wants to 'sort her out' (god help us!).
AAArrrgh and thrice aaargh. New horse will end up injuring YO, or worse. I could slap YO's husband, irritating control freak, and his mopsy drippy son.
Rantlet over. Is it too early for a brandy?
