So sad and peeved, we have have just had a letter saying that they are selling our farm and we have until September to find somewhere. I understand that obviously people have the right to sell their property but the reason i'm peeved is because they only opened the yard 3 years ago because the previous yard i had been on for 6 years closed down, when they opened they told us they would keep small and it was a long term future plan for the yard we now have over 40 horses on the yard so thats 40 horses to find new homes. Also at the time i gave up the chance to take on a lovely yard for sole use but went with these guys because they promised us the earth! Sorry grammar etc goes out the window when i'm stressed so this probably makes no sense whatsoever!!! So now do I wait till September and see if the new owners want to keep it as a going concern or move, although that is no easy task! AAAAAAAAA

oh jees that's a hard one.
With 40 horses on it, it must be a pretty viable business, maybe the new owners would like to keep it that way?

I hope so problem is they are only continuing to run the stables until september then they want us off and the details for the sale of the property are only just going out tomorrow so i can't see the sale going through before then oh poo poo poo

I would look for somewhere now as there may be a waiting list. Plus, you don't know what the new owners will want to do with it.

I know it's upsetting, but try not to blame the owners, they may well have intended to keep it going forever, but maybe they have troubles of their own that they couldn't foresee?

good grief, what a nightmare - get out of there asap, it's gonna be a flooded market.

Hope it all works out - you may find a much better place ! sm x

I know you're all right but its going to be so sad because i have so many good friends there and it is literally 2 mins from my house! I'm on Hants/wilts border

Sorry, can't help- not really my neck of the woods. But hopefully someone reading will be a bit more local and have some good suggestions. Fingers crossed the people you like also get a space on the same yard (fingers even more crossed you have a significant lottery win and can afford to buy the yard yourself! :D)

I know it sounds trite, but put yourself first and start looking, at lest you have till Sept, sorry but people let you down 99% of time and you cann't take new owners letting you stay, as their way of doing things could clash with your's and you know who will be the loser. And the best of luck.

look after Number One. I would start looking now and book a place for the end of August, so you get to stay at this one for as long as possible. I wouldn't rely on new owners staying open, but if they do, what is to stop you moving back there if it suits your requirements?

Look on the bright side :)At least they have given you plenty of warning, three months isn't bad notice, the usual is one month isn't it?
