Aachen coverage

The British quartet all went well today, but of course there will be more testing courses later in the week. Nations Cup is on Thursday evening. There was a sad sight as Christina Liebherr's super horse LB No Mercy broke down after jumping the first 7 fences in the 2nd class. She obviously realised his action had gone and jumped off. The injured leg was his near fore. He was unsaddled and lead out - the horse ambulance only got to the arena as they approached the exit.

Sorry about the injured horse.Always a special one, hopefully he can get better to live as a pet.Same thing happened to a friends horse at Blaye last year, he is doing well after a long rest.
Keep the British news coming please, esp the Team!I found the web site hard !,
JC

I think I will wait to hear from team liebherr before I assume the worst. The horse wears special shoes, he gets taken to a specialist farrier to have them put on, if he pulled on, he would be as lame as a cat, but not permenantly, obviously.

Thanks for the info.

I can't get the streaming to work at the moment - is it between classes? And do I read the schedule rightly in thinking that there is a class on at 1.15pm (UK time) today that I can watch on that link?

Yes .the 7 & 8 year-old class finished a short while ago and they just run ads etc between times. I presume you've got QuickTime set up to view it? They used to have alternative stream via Real Player, but don't now offer that option.

Thanks,

yes, I've got quicktime, but not seeing any ads atm either

I'm on a Mac hence, my concern that this is going to be another of those live equestrian events I very frustratingly can't watch

Doh! I don't have Eurosport either. Thanks for the help all the same folks.

What a round from Ashlee Bond, USA,!first of many in the jumpoff and did she go for it.
Next live on Friday, same channel, they were saying!

Cadett looks to be one of the very best SJ horses in the world this summer, and it would be no surprise to see them win the GP on Sunday. Ashlee is there as an individual, not as part of the USA team. The USA have been allowed to have 5 riders, though limited to an overall total of 12 horses like the European teams who are only being allowed to take 4 riders to the Super League shows.
GB start 7th tomorrow evening: Geoff with Rosinus; Phillip with Romanov II, Gemma with Lutine du Chamoie and Peter Pall Mall H - these horses all having had a rest day today.
The Winning Round format in the other class helped one Brit and hindered another. In the more difficult morning round Pedro VI had a foot on the tape of the water and a time fault, so missed the cut, but as 3 riders opted not to go in the afternoon round, Geoff was able to take part and jumped a good fast clear. Gemma and Arliena Z did a fluent clear in the morning, one of only 6, with only Billy Birr (whose new rider Cassio Rivetti is benefiting from how Will Funnell produced the horse) going faster. In the afternoon the 7 year-old mare had the 4th fence down and finished 14th. I have reservations about 7 year-olds competing in 1.50m international classes, but this youngster seems to have taken to it like a duck to water.
