Aargh! Conflicting weather forecasts - trying to make haylage

I am desperately watching all weather forecasts at the moment as I am trying to decide when there will be clear dry days when I can cut and make my haylage.

Sky says it will be good tomorrow, Fri and Sat with rain coming in on Sunday.

Metcheck says showers each day.

Don't know whether to take a risk and cut tomorrow and just hope for the best?

My grass is standing at waist height now and I am really worried if I leave my grass much longer it will flop over and then rot on the field? Will it rot?

When is the latest I could cut it? Someone said it would be ok up until September, but surely it would be too late then?

Sorry for all the questions. At my wits end with this weather.

thanks

Go with the forecast you like the most, thats what we resorted to this year.

I know what you mean -our field is past it's best now - we're waiting for the farmer to come and cut it - but he said it would be more likely to be August before the weather is stable enough to cut it

Thanks both, have spoken to the farmer this morning and he says wait a week or two for the weather to settle.

Flippin weather. Poor kids off school too.
