Just thought that I would share our positive experience of Abbey dressage last night.... We usually go dressaging at Addington (it is only 40mins down the road and so we are very spoilt!) but decided that we would go somewhere else for a change and we had a four year old to compete on his first ever outing. We arrived to a lovely yard with lots of parking for lorries, great sized warm up arena and lovely members of staff! The tests took place in the indoor, which (other than the scary mirrors!) was lovely and calm, especially for our youngster. My friends daughter had a bit of a blip in the warm up with her youngster and the lady who owns the centre came and made the judges aware of the situation and they were so understanding and calmed her down no end. A lovely place for youngsters to learn the ropes! :)

I keep my horses 15 min hack from there and have been put off taking my baby cos it seems a bit posh and i am NOT a dressage rider and she has only just started her schooling. Maybe I should give it a go, its nice to read a good review :)

It's a lovely venue Una, I haven't ridden there yet, only been up as a groom and even I would feel welcome competing there and I detest dressage and my horse is like a moose :p

Most of their unaff classes are split into restricted/open/professional giving us mere mortals a chance.

I've always been scared to go there as well as I thought it was too posh. Might need to go now following this positive review. :)

Glad you had a good day. :D

Would it be "restricted" for those of us likely to fall over our own feet? :D

Another thumbs up from me!! They didnt even laugh at racehorse dressage and poor Av having to wear my luminous brushing boots from my old 12hh pony in the warm up. My friend also turned up minus her reins , Nick went and got his own for her to use :D. Great lessons and clinics too!!

Abbey are lovely I have found them very welcoming and helpful - I have actually been videoing the dressage there on a couple of occasions in the last month for clients and hope to do a lot more dates for them !!
