ABC guide to breaking and Schooling Horses

Is the above a good book or not?
Or can ayone recomend a good book.

What are you wanting from a book? If you need a book to break a horse, personally I would say that's a huge risk - you'd be far better off getting a good instructor. If you're just looking for something for good schooling exercises, that's a different thing, there's loads out there.

IMO it is a good book, has lots of hints and tips but obviously not a replacement for professional help. I had experience with breaking and schooling prior to getting my first youngster but got some valuable advice and reassurance from the book, I found it a good reference point at times

Ditto what Sal and Frannie says. The book is very good for pointers and tips but no replacement for experience.

From Birth to Backing, by Richard Maxwell is excellent, but doesnt include much on the schooling side.

Schooling exercises, pole work etc. I have one book on polework (can't remember what its called) but don't think much of it. I know there are alot out their so wondering what are the good ones.
I do have a good instructor who breaks horses in herself and i have weekly lessons with on my loan pony.

great book!

lots of handy little tips in it- like riding away with a rounding to attach rein to noseband and bit to save the horse's mouth- i always do this now and it works brilliantly.

I think it is a good book, I used it for back up and reference when I had my 2 year old.

Don't know that book but I can recommend the Klimke's "Basic Training of the Young Horse"
