Hey everyone.
I posted.. around a month ago? My horse had an abcess around 6 weeks ago now.
So after going through all the poulticing, my horse been sound without front shoes on when trotting up. The keeping the area clean and dry poulticing to double check there was no more infection his shoes went back on. That was around 2 weeks ago , roughly. My vet told me to bring him back into light work. I have only been able to work him once this week, only planned around 3 walking hacks only. However a few days ago we trotted him up on the gravel to see hoe he was and given a week previous he was very nearly sound, this time he was nodding his head on the gravel. Trotted him on the road and he appeared sound. Yet every morning seen Friday when hitting the gravel and the first... 30 seconds of been out in the field he has been sore. however on a evening , friends have said he has been fine to bring in and not sore.
I have spoke to my vet since this and first he advised if he was sore again to get him back down and then he said about poulticing again. if he thought there was an pedal bone infection surely he wouldn't suggest poulticing again?? Sadly trying to get a hold of him is like trying to get blood out of stone.
Thanks
