abcess or fracture in cartilage

Ok so horse came in hopping lame on sat night got vet out said bruised sole ...had farrier out yesterday he says its not thinks its an abcess brewing in her heel and wil most likely burst within next few days he said if its not might be fracture in lateral cartilage but not to worry has anyone experienced this or opinions please I've poultised her heel to try make it a bit softer so it can burst if it is

Sounds like an abcess to me. Wait a couple of days. If no better get the vet again. In the meantime keep her in a confined dry space.
