Looks like my horse has an abcess, pulled a shoe on Saturday and looked a bit pottery on Monday evening, waiting for farrier to drain and confirm but in the mean time have poulticed.
He seems to be prone to them at this time of year, I guess due to the mud. Is there anything I can do to reduce his tendency to them? he needs as much turnout as possible due to spavin. While the gateway and bottom section of the field is deep the rest is fairly dry.He is fed half a scoop of veteran vitality, handful of linseed, tumeric and joint suplement and ad lib hayage.
