I've just had our Spanish friend ring up about a horse that has been advertised on a site over here....

He's a 5 year old, chestnut Arab stallion, 1.58m tall (about 15.2hh, probably smaller as they all exaggerate over here). Unpapered but good stock, broken but not been ridden much as the owner has been at university, so he needs some work but said owner now doesn't have the time. He has a 3 yo papered stallion too, but I would have to geld so I'm not interested in paying for a stud when I won't use him.

Anyway, due to the crisis, the guy is looking for a sale and the price is €1200, negotiable

I must be mad, but I'm going anyway for a damn good looky - hopefully this week, I'll try and get some photos and see what people think if I like him.

Are you in Spain? where abouts?

He is worth a look but we need pics first!

Yeah, I'm in Spain. Galicia - the wet, green bit

after five years in the desert.

Well, they are not good at confo shots over here and the pic on the site is of the other stallion (3 yo) so I will get photos and post them once we've been.

I want to do endurance, so Arab for me - yes, I rode Andalusians down in the south but, although they are gorgeous, they are not for me.

Me on friend's Andalusian, about a month after he was gelded and I had to start exercising him - hence BP and cr*p riding position

Wow - he is stunning!!!

He looks much better now, much more muscle as he is being used at the RS now he is gelded - this was about 2 years ago and he was a bit odd looking from lack of exercise. I find him, and his son, hugely uncomfortable to ride as I can't cope with their slow, almost lazy feeling action.

On the other hand this is FB about three years ago, before I actually owned him but was his only rider - in his pelham and me in spurs

Bootiful boy - shame about the witch on his back

Ooooo! He is lovely, the two stallions I rode in Spain were similar, they were amazing and I know what you mean about them having a slow (but uphill) action, I don't think they would work for me as I love xc but I may be wrong?

I would love to live in Spain but OH won't go, one day maybe .....
