About to start riding again-Tips please!

I am going to have my first ride on my new share horse tomorrow and am very excited but a little nervous!

I haven't ridden for 3 years and have recently given birth too, so am definately not at all fit, but am dying to get on board.
Anyone got any tips to make this first ride (and subsequent ones) a little easier and fun?
My horses other sharer is coming with me to the school for this first ride, as I will feel better with someone else there at first and they can shout at me to correct my sloppy position, etc, then we might go for a hack at the weekend.

bach rescue rememdy if you are scared, works a treat. Try to relax, the more nervous you are the more likely you will fall off - and just enjoy it

That will be good fun then - best tip really is not to wind yourself up over it! See how you get on with the horse then arrange some lessons for the two of you so you can sort out the sloppy bits and hopefully learn some more about the horse too. Good luck!

Oh and don't be tempted to do 30 mins with no stirrups - it hurts..........

I'm not sure I'll be able to manage 30 mins altogether nevermind without stirrups!!
