Frankie was hopping lame on Friday, spoke to vet Sunday who recommended wet poulticing. By Monday lameness was all but gone, lots of gunk on poultice around frog area (seemed thrushy too) and heel with what appeared to be wee hole in heel.
Wet poulticed again however today it looks like the wet poultice is making his heel sore and soggy. The hole appears to be gone (?) and the poultice is less nasty (no blackness).
I've cleaned him up again with salty water (he wont put his foot in a bucket to soak) and applied a dry poultice today. He is barefoot.
How long should I continue with dry poultice/covering foot?
Should I be applying any sprays/creams etc to his foot?
When is it ok to ride again?
Thanks
