Not that exciting but possibly interesting to see the damage for those new to abscesses. It was a difficult one to find, farrier came out so many times as she was on/off lame and in the end I think she stood in the sunshine snoozing and that was enough direct heat for it burst out.
It actually burst out of the coronary band but this is my only photo
Some time later... we are nearly grown out. Damage is interesting though.

I think finding its own way out is the best way for an abscess to resolve. Hooves are such amazing structures aren't they, able to change shape to compensate for changes further up the limb and strong enough to support a 500kg animal moving and jumping.
