Abscess update with piccy

So Doog had an abscess that the vet dug out last Thursday, it was in his sole by the frog and was caused by treading on a stone.
Ive poulticed every day since then and got pus out every day, but less the last day or so. I only did 2 wet poultices after the vet had been due to us poulticing the wrong place for a week and making the sole soft! So just a dry poultice for the last 7 days.
He was 100% sound from Monday so i started riding Weds due to him being a bit crazy to hand walk! I have also been hot tubbing twice a day. And tonight i put some iodine on it.
Below is the poultice from tonight....i just want the pus to stop!!

That's not goooooood. Keep riding, it will pump out more gunge. You might try some hydrogen peroxide at 3% (available from Boots at 6%, water it down) and put it in a syringe and pump it in the hole as hard as you can. It flushes out bad stuff and delivers bug-killing oxygen right into the heart of the problem. If that's animalintex, save yourself some money and use a nappy with magnesium sulphate paste (boots again) on it.
