Abscesses in all 4 feet

Right so I brought a lovely big coloured warmblood 2YO at a sale about 2-3 months ago now. She was very very poor in condition. Shes had adlib ascess to long standing hay grass (she is a giraffe so eats over the fence when strip grazing anyway) since being with me she gets a small feed of half a scoop of alpha a chaff and 2 handfuls of baileys stud balancer (vet recommendation because of her age and she looked like a yearling 2 months ago she was that poor). Anyway in the past few weeks shes had an abscess come through 3 feet and looking at her tonight shes got another brewing on the remainding hoof. Is this something to worry about, or is it just because she has been lacking all vits and minerals she needed for so long and this is her bodys way or rejuvenating? She looks fantastic now and is a lovely happy little filly. Or is there a supplement I could feed to help her feet. They were quite nice and short when I brought her and no signs or old abcessess or ring.

You have pus pouring out of all her feet ?? I have seen a lot of horses over a lot of years with an abscess but never anything like that...maybe someone will come along who has...
 
Pus can and does come out with some abscesses Bonny. I assume from OPs post that both a vet and a farrier have seen the horse and have agreed that they are abscesses too.
 
Definitely abscesses not really pouring out pus but you know what I mean lol! All completely stereotypical and cleared up easily within a few days. She on the same grazing as 5 other horses, 4 of them barefoot, one thoroughbred, one 15hh cob, a little pony, and a 2yo welsh pony, and my welsh cross mare. None of the other horses have a had a problem at all but my other mare has seedy toe now and had her first abscess in the spring.
Feet aren't hot and she doesn't get fed a lot of sugar and she just doesn't seem lami and all to me. Is quite happy on her feet when the abscess is cleared.
Where could I get grass analysed or how much would it cost? I presumed that was the point of feeding balancers in the first place to help balance all this!
 
I think your first instinct is correct - but it is unusual to see it in all four hooves. I bought a rising 2yo last year that had never been hard fed, and she sprang a couple of small abscesses when her diet changed. Sounds like she is on the mend though, and if there are no other problems, if she were mine, I wouldn't worry unless there are ongoing issues.

Sounds like she was a lucky girl to have found you.
 
My filly got them in both front feet at the same time, she wouldn't move! Very distressing to see. Hers followed overgrown feet because the farrier failed to turn up twice in a row and we had had wet weather. There was nothing I could do except bring food and water to her as she refused to move. They must have been really painful.
This was one time when I gave pain relief - as I wasn't able to poultice because she wouldn't pick up her feet. Within a couple of days one broke out at the coronet and I was able to get a poultice on the other.
