Just got back from the Xmas SJ, and OMG was Pidge flying
Did the clear round (8 fences and a double to finish)in some semblance of control and had 2 down
However no spooks and I had my cruise missile of a horse back
amazing what a fixed back and saddle that fits (not mine!) can do
then took him in the mince pie stakes (2'3"-2'6") and I'm sure he thought he was in the speed class
We galloped towards the first fence and that was it we were off with Pidge most definately taking me to every fence
he slowed down marginally after the double as he thought he had finished until I told him we had 2 more fences to do which we motored over in fine hunting style
Just had the one down in that class so don't think I came anywhere as put him to bed and came home for a warm without looking at placings.
I am so so pleased with how he jumped tonight as it has been some time since he took me over the fences like he did tonight. I definatley have my cruise missile back and there was absolutely no inclination of any run outs whatsoever so I now know that when he was running out it was due to his back hurting
Can't wait now to get my jump saddle back and get out jumping properly. Oh and forgot to say bar one sticky turning moment I felt really secure in the saddle and confident I am still grinning now
