Have found out tonight that my riding school that I've been at for 2 1/2 years is up for sale

Absolutly gutted.... it's up for nearly £1million, it's such a thriving business.

Not only could I lose my riding school, but if it is sold I look sure to lose my instructor at least- she owns it with her mother

Best instructor I've ever had too.

Absolutly gutted *cries*

Could you possible ask your instructor what she is planning on doing when she leaves the school, she may move to another one quite close by where you could get lessons?

Now know which one.........very sorry on your behalf. I should do as HH has suggested though, & see what their plans are. It's not going to happen overnight either, so plany of time to research & have sometrial lessons at other places.
PM me if you'd like some suggestions.

Business sales can take a long time... you may find nothing changes for a while. As yorkshireyearling says, ask your instructor what her plans are.
Also, bear in mind you may have the chance to buy your favourite horse at a good price!?

I did think about that! There's several horses up there I would quite happily buy.

I'm going up there on monday for a lesson, will have a word with instructor then, see what her plans are. I have a feeling I know why she's selling, but I'm not totally sure. Just a bit shocked- it's such a fabulous riding school and she's put her whole life into running it

Crap - I know someone who tried to buy it 2 years ago. Really hope they haven't remembered about it and contacted him. Why are they selling up, do you know? are all the horses being sold or will they come with the yard?

Oh dear, I can sympathise, happened to me a few years ago, Gooseford Riding School if anyone remembers it? I believe they are now livery/private yard rather than riding school, did sell off many/all their horses.

Plus point now though is I found another good one that's also closer to me!

Good Luck!

NO! Not whael buller in cornwall! I used to go on riding holidays with them EVERY SINGLE YEAR! oh how sad, make sure Riley goes somewhere nice, i love that pony!

And Chloe, Molly, Minty, Sharman, Buttons, Windy, Laddie, Oatis, Prince, Trilbee, Dutchess, Boysey, Toby and all the rest of them! Oh how sad! Are they all going to a horse sales or they all going up privately? Are they keeping the ones they bred?
