Access to past issues of horsey magazines for dissertation.

For my dissertation I'm looking into the effect of gender on horse-human relationships. Part of my dissertation is going to be looking at how accessible horse riding is to men, one of the ways I am doing this is through looking at equestrian magazines such as Horse and Hound, Horse and the Pony Club magazine.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I'd get hold of these back issues (I'm hoping to look at about 10 years worth)? A quick google has suggested that I'd need to buy them all and I'm hoping there will be a library somewhere with them in that I could have access to?

Any help would be much appreciated!
 
Could you ring up the magazines and ask if they know of any collections in libarys etc? Also 10 years of horse and hound is a hell of alot of magazines!! lol
 
Thank you for your replies. I'll try the British Library and will give them a ring to see if they know of any. I'm not going to look at the whole 10 years worth (I'm not completely mental), just a sample of them all to compare!
 
When I was at college in Moreton Morrell they had an entire section for the old copies of H&H but not the other mags. Although they did have a huge fire so not sure if the library was involved in that or not as it was several years after I left.

Pointless ringing - just search their online catalogue :)
 
We have a massive bundle going back to 2003/4 you could take them with pleasure, if you were close enough you could have taken them
