My silly lad managed to somehow shred his back legs on the fence overnight last night. I had a phonecall from my YO this morning when she brought him in for his brekka. Bless her she washed him off and hibiscrubbed him for me (so I'm sure he didn't look as shocking by the time I got to him) He's taken the skin off in strips on the front and inside of both legs from the coronet band to his stifle! And he has a couple of deeper cuts. The vet came and she seems to think that all the cuts are mostly superficial and although very swollen and a little lame behind, after a couple of days bute, box rest and antibiotics he should be ok. Tbh i still feel a bit shocked as even though there's always a chance that they'll hurt themselves your never quite prepared for it. I'm just hoping that he seems a bit better in himself in the morning as he was really miserable being kept in when I left him tonight :-(
