Accommodation For Burghley Horse Trials

Can anyone please help ?

We are planning a trip to Burghley Horse Trials with our 4 children and are looking for a relatively local campsite - does anyone know of one they can recommend?

We were hoping to find somewhere with a bar and some play facilities/ swimming pool to occupy the children when we're not at the trials but we're struggling to find any information at all ....

If anyone can recommend anywhere i'd be really greatful !!

Try looking more around Rutland water, Exton, Greetham Cottesmore. Ok,they are all around 10 miles from Burghley but a massive gang of my firends used to use Greetham and as we lived in Cottesmore our house and garden but there are pubs and all local facilities and lovely villages. To get to the A1 is less than a mile from the above campsite.
 
Thanks for the information - it's a bit of a nightmare as i've never really ventured past Stamford without a horsebox and bedding down on showgrounds ... and that was a while ago now ..

We tried Tallington Lakes but there availability was on the overflow site which is a 5 minute walk to the toilets etc plus theres no electricity and we're just a bit on the thinking that it might be a bit much for the kids ...

I will def try out the other areas as we dont mind a bit of travelling plus we've prepared ourselves for possibly crossing the border out of Lincs and finding somewhere like that

Any other suggestions would be great too ...
 
It honestly is a straight line down the road from Stamford. really easy and a much nicer area to explore with loads to do for the kiddies. Stamford is Lincolnshire and just as you leave Stamford is Rutland! Only 10 miles!from camp site to Burghley!

I'll have a good look into it in the morning as i've had a couple of glasses of wine now and tbh will most probably end up booking us into full livery on a yard somewhere if i try now !!
