Has anybody competed at Cricklands and had to stay overnight, but not in a box?

I’m going to a 3 day show (dragging BibbtyBobbtyBoo out of her shell to go with me

) and have wangled a lift down in a trailer, but will have to stay there somehow. I know they have accommodation on site but all it says is that it’s £100 per night, no details about it or how many people can stay there. I may be able to get a couple of people to come with, in which case it may not be too expensive, but if that doesn’t work, we will have to either:

a) sleep in a tent, which won’t be fun if it’s raining or cold (very likely) and it will be difficult to keep all our stuff clean & safe. Plus no washing/loo/cooking facilities.

or

b) stay in a local B&B. There seem to be a few within walking distance and it would work out not too expensive, really, but I’m wondering about shifting stuff to & from the venue and how tricky it may be to get in & out in the morning and evening.

I did consider renting an extra stable but I don't think they'd let us stay in one!

Any advice/experiences/recommendations? Apart from it being a bit mad to try, lol!

I was just wondering that too - have been trying to convince OH we can camp in the trailer and rent a stable for the pony but he isn't too keen on it...

It is a bit difficult, I wonder if we can organise a HHO accomodation share? If we fill their accomodation then it won't be too expensive!

When are you going? We're there over the weekend of Sep 11-13.
I wouldn't mind for oine night and have spent over a week travelling to different shows in a lorry but I can't go 3 days in a tent and stay in show condition, lol.

The accommodation at David Broomes is basically static caravans so you could easily get 6 people to share. Having stayed there several times I wouldn't recommend the local B&B's as leaving your kit on the showground isn't a great idea. Also the stables are shavings only, and Very deep littered, I've been going there for 15 years and not sure if they are mucked out more than once a year.

Thanks for the info. I was kinda thinking we could get away with squeezing a few people in there, lol! Static caravans is fine, better than a tent anyway. Deep litter is fine, I do it all winter, do they just leave it in there?
