Just wondered if anyone on here had been to an Active Rider camp?
There is one quite near me in October and am trying to work out if it's worth justifying over £200 for the weekend!
It sounds fun, but I'm just a pleasure rider, who likes hacking and fancy my hand at a little local dressage. I enjoy jumping but my horse doesn't really like heights :D! Would it be of benefit to me?
Any reviews or experiences would be gratefully received.:)

Yes you take your own horse and it's stabled at the camp. You normally camp in trailer/tent/lorry and sometimes meals are provided but mostly not. Hay and straw/shavings is sometimes provided too. I think you get a couple of lessons a day and some demos but I'm just waiting for someone to come back to me with a few more details.

I feel guilty thinking about going, as it's quite pricey and I'd be leaving my children for the weekend, although hubby is more than capable of looking after them! I just feel like if I'm not there 24/7 then I'm letting them down! :(

Yes, great fun, don't have to jump huge - choose your height. There was a good group of people there when I went, it was well organised and there were good instructors.

I paid £256. Not cheap, but 4 good lessons, stabling, my food, talks etc - so not bad really. I would recommend.

Yes I went to the one at MKEC a couple of years ago, it was really good, had a great time & would thoroughly recommend, have fun!!

I went on one last year at MKEC - I have moved my horse there now so not going this year! But they are GREAT fun! I loved it - even if cost me almost as much as a holiday abroad for a week!

Fab pictures, Cheekywelshie! You did really well.
I really want to go, but am just concerned, like cheekywelshie said, that it's almost the cost of a week abroad!
I'll let you know if I decide to go!!
