This is the first year in about 10, that I have not registered with BE, it makes me feel very odd and a bit sad!

Simply cannot afford it at all this year, so far (there is hope
wink.gif
)

Normally I just say f**k it and put it on my credit card, but times is hard and I just cannot justify it this year.

Shall keep working on the little brat though and if there are any local one days, like winkleigh, may go and do that but that will be it for me.

Will be reading all your BE reports with envy this year but at least I can live it through you guys

Self pity post finished, now pass us that bottle someone, who's hogging it?

Anybody needing a groom for the south west events, am happy to volunteer

I shall feel a bit miffed and sad with you honey.
Ive not joined this year either, I was a member last year just didnt register a horse.

So you and I will be living our eventing dream through everyone else.

As much as I enjoy it, dressage just isnt the same

You might win the lottery yet! Just think though less stress, less worry, less work, less pressure etc. etc. etc.

Hopefully you can polish up and when you do come out again there will be no stopping you.

By the way extra pair of hands always welcome!

I nearly didn't...i don't even think i can make the most of it anyway this year....the early events in this year i don't think i will be ready for and then when events come back in the area June time i am off abroad !

BB's, know what you mean re the dressage, it just doesn't have the thrill factor that galloping round a xc course has *sigh* Will def have to meet up with you this year, Blenheim or Badder's, Pimm's bar?
wink.gif

S_J, if I can help, just let me know
smile.gif

I've the opposite problem. Everyone fit (touch wood) and registered, just not sure about the jockey as he's still on crutches after hip operation two weeks ago.

If he isn't 100% fit by the middle of March I will prob have become VERY miffed and grouchy.

That's a bummer Fran, surely D will be fine to do some Intro's, or whatever it is they have annoyingly changed it to???

I don't know my dressage really is not good enough i just feel too unprepared and the situation is just not going to change...because he is a bit on the lazy side want to make sure he has done enough canter work which is very few and far between as is just general exercise.

Don't get me wrong its great im going on holiday in June but its bad timing
tongue.gif
- may see if i can get someone to ride him for me- just to keep him ticking over!

For the first time in a long time, I have a horse that might just be able to be booted round an intro - except I am leaving the mecca of eventing, with events on my doorstep, to move to the arse end of nowhere to move in with my husband. Why oh why did I have to be made redundant and have to leave here?!!!!

Ah well, I'll have frequent bottles of wine and the odd canter along the beach!!!

Oh Wizoz I do feel for you. I was in your position this time last year but you do come through it - honest.

Keep smiling Hun and if you fancy a trip 'oop North' there's a few of us here would like a helping hand (me, Baydale, KatB, icestationzebra, etc, etc)
laugh.gif

I think we all tend to strive for perfection and if you were trying to keep a clean sheet with good marks for selling purposes I could understand your worries but if you can afford it, I'd go and do it, most definately.
smile.gif

Boo's a lazy sod off the leg too, except when he's being a brat
smirk.gif

Look at it as a year to take the pressure off, have fun and try and work on the training side of things (while putting away some pennies as and when you can ready for next season). With no transport, little money and a horse that I'm finally ready to crack on with I'm becoming quite accustomed to looking at the positives.

Literally the arse end of nowhere!!!!! If I told you how out on a limb we will be, you'd laugh. At least I grew up in Cornwall so I am used to being a bit 'limby'!!!!

Ah well, there is SJ and Dressage nearby and hunting. Maye I can get my adrenalin fix by asking Oh to take me up in a jet.....wibble...!

I know, I so very nearly didnt register, but then thought sod it, these next few years will prob be the last few I will be able to afford it before I lok at buying house, etc etc. However, I do feel your pain hin, I think you should DEFINITELY come and help us "norvern" lasses (or chavs as B calls us
mad.gif
)for a couple of events

I know exactly how you're feeling. It's the first year in ages that I'm not eventing as my horse is injured and I haven't got space for another
frown.gif
I'm planning on getting my eventing fix grooming for my sister and fence judging!

Or in my case all the gear but no bloody horse!

Oh yeah, I forgot your OH was in the RAF, have you come across my mate yet? Do you remember?? Ian "Spiney" Norman. He is/was a pilot, met him when he was based at chivenor, loved him to bits but he was only 5ft tall and i'm about 10ft! Ok, that's an exaggeration but you catch my drift
