Hello, I was wondering if any one has used Acupuncture on there horses & if they feel it has worked for them? Also if any one knows of any one practicing acupuncture in the Kent area?
I worked on a stud where the vet did acupuncture on any of the yearlings with back problems, lameness or stiffness. We had a few with a naturally poor walk and they benefitted quite a bit from acupuncture which allowed them to stretch out and walk loosely and freely. The vet said it stimulated the muscles and loosened them. I cant remember the type of acupuncture she used, but there were different coloured wire attached to the needles and two different controls for electrical circuits used.
In the US, vets are the only ones allowed to do acupuncture on horses and Ireland is meant to be the same but as far as I know, anyone can do acupuncture on animals in the UK ( Star will know Im sure). Sorry I cant be of any help to advise any acupuncturist though.
