Has anyone had a treatment done on their horse, or themselves ..... successful or not ?
I am thinking of trying them but information is scarce, it's been used a lot more in the USA & I am struggling to find any negative reports, but it sounds a bit too good to be true? Will cost £320 for one treatment so would like to find out what I can.
My horse has fibrotic myopathy which is a rare condition, but basically he has scar tissue in one of the big hind end muscles e.g hamstrings. As this is less elastic that normal tissue it causes an odd gait at walk, as he can't bring one hind leg though as far, but appears sound in trot and canter. It's not painful, just a gait abnormality like stringhalt.
I am keen to try non - invasive treatments before resorting to cutting out a a big lump of his rear, which may or may not be successful and is difficult to heal. He has seen the osteo & he is in very good shape, so it's not affecting him or making him sore. He is having weekly massage treatments and these do seem to help.
I bred him to do dressage ...typically this is probably the only thing he won't be able to do with this condition !
