Adding to the Muddy Field Problem

You all know the bit in front of a field shlter that turns to a few square meters of muddy slime, anyone got any old Indian tricks as to how to help eradicate this before I slip over in the dark again - not funny.

you can buy field mats that are ringed and so stop it turning to slush

Can you hardcore it? harcore's cheap and easy to get put down. It'd give the horses somewhere dry to stand and stop it turning into a quagmire.

my friend has put a old carpet down1 it has worked really well!!

we put some woodchippings down (had a load after the trees were topped) and has worked wonders, it is still wet, but no mud, and dries out really quickly, will definatly do it again next year, you can get a truck load of chippings for £25 so not too expensive
