So, i was nervous today! (no change there then) mostly because i had a few friends of mine come to watch....

Anyway - we arrived in good time and the weather seemed fine so all was well!! I watched the BN then went to walk the course for my class - the disco. It walked fine, a few lines i thought i might have to watch but the height looked good (maybe im getting used to jumping the disco, they no longer look so big!!) and the arena is soooo big it gives lots of thinking time!

So i warmed up and it started to rain!

She still warmed up well and im really pleased as we are starting to work together now. I watched the person before me go round and the heavens opened!! No matter, i went in anyway and she was a little star!! The rain was horrendous really, but she jumped really really well. We went clear!! As soon as i was done, the sun came out. Typical.

We weren't fast enough to get placed, but im pretty sure it was the last double clear we needed to qualify for the second rounds (need to check!!) and i was really happy as a few weeks ago i was having problems. Plus we've only been a team for the past 2 and a half months!!

NC - here we come!!

We got very wet!!

A good day then, well done - and poor you for getting wet. Now some bad news maybe.... The qualifying period for getting your Discovery DCs is from 1st May to 30th April, so the one you jumped today will count towards next summers 2nd rounds not this years. However Newcomers/Fox period is from 1st June to 31st May

Bloody well done! what awful condidtions you had to ride in.

Great pics, the disco always looks huge to me at addington lol

Where they running it all out in the main arena outside? or are they using the indoor one too?

Extra well done for getting a DC in such soggy conditions. I'm sure it was hard to see, never mind jump.
Photos are lovely (though can see how heavy the rain was).

Addington looks lovely - even in the rain!

Looks as though the rain didn't affect you or your horse at all

Good luck for Newcomers
