Adequan has anyone used?

Hi everyone rmember me!
Not been on here for months! Had a disastor with my young horse i got last year, she injured herself in field and had to have scans and xrays on friday as she was lame and fetlock sore on flexion, v worrying as we thought she may have a fracture, but she hopefully hasn't! Vet has suggested a course of Adequan as there is damage to end of cannon bone or just the cartilage, due to some sort of trauma. Has anyone used this before? I believe it is usually used for DJD or can be used for trauma injuried to joints.

I have used it couple of times. Wouldnt try it again, just delays the inevitable - proper time off.

I've heard it's very, very expensive and doesnt always do the job

I'm using it on my 4 year old who has navicular and has been lame for months unless on the maximum dose of Danilon. We are on injection 5 now and he is moving much better.
I;m impressed but we're still in the early stages of treatment so couldn't comment re long term benefits.
