My saddle fitter was out yesterday and advised me that sadly my lovely, very comfortable custom made saddle is too narrow for my new horse.
He advised me I'll need to get an adjustable saddle to accommodate him as he is still filling out and will more than likely grow from his current medium wide to extra wide in a couple of years.
I've been going quite insane since yesterday researching all the different options.
He recommended Fieldhouse and Thorogood but I'm not too fond of either (sorry, call me fussy). I'm fortunate to have a budget of £1500 for a new saddle and the Kieffer Munchen deep seat has caught my eye.
At present I'll be doing schooling and hacking and hoping to tackle some jumping, hunter trials in the future.
Does anyone have or know anything about the Kieffers and specifically the Munchen? I like the fact it has a cut back Pommel which really suits my horse's high wither.
Not sure if there might be any other brands out there that would also suit? I'm happy to pay a premium to get the best saddle for my budget as I hope to have it a long time.
It's been 14 years since I bought my last saddle so I have no clue as to what the good brands are.
Any comments appreciated.
