Do you know if you can do this? Looking for a dressage saddle and just wondered if there was much adjustment in them if the horse was to change shape?

i have the suzanne and small adjustments can be made to the tree if done by a good saddler, i think there is a limit though as too how many times you can adjust them but it is possible.
the good things is the ideals hve good drop panels so tend to fit quite well even if they loose some muscle whilst out of work etc.....

Ahh excellent, Saw a virtually new one on ebay for 300 quid asked the seller a question and the next thing someone bought it now! damn it! too good to be true!

Yes saddlers can do this so can Ideal themselves. Do be careful who does it tho as it can go horribly wrong. I wouldn't adjust one more than one width either, as you weaken the tree

To adjust a metal tree you basically have to bend it one way or another. If you bend it too far you affect the fit because the tree was made to the original width and they are not meant to bend. Also, by bending the tree you immediately weaken it, even if only done once.

So yes, you can alter the width because its metal but no, youre not supposed to.
