It has been on the bucket list for a while and wow it is the most fun
, plus it means Doodle is potentially out of competition retirement (well we shall see how she goes but touch wood!)!
We did a spot of practise at a friends yard last month just to check we could attempt it and Doodle would be ok and then went to a proper organised practise night last night. I never got to do the pony club thing as a child, as I didn't get Doodle until I was 16, so I was super excited
.
Doodle thought it was brilliant, running about and allowed to be giddy she was in heaven
, she was awesome though as she's so responsive and easy to ride.I need to practise tighter turns as I do not want to push her too much too soon, but she managed everything really well on her old lady legs
. More work needed on steering one handed and off my weight and legs just to really cement our turning skills
, and really need to work on my mounting/ dismounting skills
but overall it went great
.

Ready for the change over
Bending race
Pass the baton
Paying attention to the team and tactics being shared

Anyone tempted to have a go do it, can't wait to have another go!
