I am doing a novice WHP class with my 13.2hh Welsh b (but will be plaited in a non m&m class). Now I know ponies who generally be shown with jod boots but what about an adult riding a pony? I would sooner wear long boots but not sure what is more appropriate?

I haven't watched many but the ones I have seen the riders are wearing short boots, but it may say in the rules if it's an affiliated competition.

i presume this is unaffiliated so i would say go with whatever you're comfortable with. At the higher levels in M&M classes which are the only classes you really see adults on smaller ponies there is a tendency to wear jod boots for a better overall picture.

It's obviously a bit of a grey area but I'd say on a 13.2 section B weight pony short boots. Generally small breeds and up to 133cm plaited are short boots, with a mixture in the 143cm class. I think?

plaited WHP normally has an age limit for rider

Assuming thats not the case and you are eligible to ride then short boots are the norm on a 13.2 regardless of rider age
