Adults who ride ponies - help needed

i'm 5'8 8 stone i ride a 14 - 14.2 hand pony, she has absolutely no problem at all carrying me. I think i look a bit lanky but people assure me i don't and i love riding her so i decided it doesnt matter if my legs are a bit long looking.

Definitely not, I'm 5ft11 and ride a 13.3 :D Certainly doesn't have issues being a tit sometimes.
 
As others have said, it depends entirely on the horse! I am 5'9" and have ridden 16hh horses whom I felt big on, and yet I had a 13.2hh pony in for a few months to sort out her attitude problems, and didn't ever feel big on her. It doesn't have to be a difference in height either - my mare is 15.2hh and although she is no longer ridden, I did feel a little big on her when she was in work, and yet the spotty wonder was the same height and I felt perfectly normal on him - apart from the fact that my bum was too big for his saddle!

I dont think your to big for him at all! I wish i weighed under 10stone :P If you are happy with your boy keep him, don't listen to others. both my horses 14.2 and 15hh and i weigh over 11stone! they have never shown any problems carrying me :) and my youngster is quite fine and also short in the back.

Me 5ft 6" on Toffee in the good days she is 14.1hh (always thought she was 14.3hh but actually measured her last month)
